A SWAP shop will allow residents to donate or swap their unwanted Christmas gifts.

It will be set up at the Martin Ramsey Community Suite, at Bridgemary Community Sports College in Gosport on January 15 between 10am and 1pm.

'You don't have to bring something along in order to take something away,' said Gosport Councillor Graham Burgess.

'We just want to ensure that anything someone can make use of has a useful life rather than going into a landfill.'

Unwanted items of clothing, textiles, mobile phones and inkjet cartridges will be collected to raise money for the Air Ambulance Charity.

Any items left over at the end of the day will be collected by the Jacob's Well Care Centre.
