GET those cameras ready – it’s nearly time for our popular annual One Summer’s Day photographic competition.

Take a photo that sums up summer and you could win a fantastic £400 three-night weekend break for up to eight people at Bunn Leisure – Tourism South East’s Holiday Park of the Year.

There’s also a runner-up prize of a four-night midweek break for up to six people, also worth £400.

Selsey-based Bunn Leisure is the perfect destination for family fun. It boasts a mile of beach, fantastic facilities and a live entertainment programme that’s second to none.

So how can you be a winner? Well, whatever you get up to on Saturday August 4, we want you to capture it on camera.

Perhaps you’ll take the kids for a day out at the beach, or organise an outing to an event or attraction.

Or maybe you’ll decide to fire up the barbie, fill up the children’s paddling pool and just have fun in the garden (if it’s stopped raining by then).

Your picture can be of anything, but we’re looking for images that reflect a typical summer’s day.

Last year’s contest, which attracted more than 100 entries, was won by Matthew Orchard’s superb shot of the sun setting over a rain-drenched beach at Hayling Island.

News picture editor Dean Kedward says: ‘Composition is the secret of a good photo. Try to fill the frame of your viewfinder (or screen) with your subject.

‘This will ensure a bold image sure to catch the judges’ eye.’

Dean adds: ‘Some of the best pictures are spontaneous, but you can also think about using props to give you a humorous image.’

When you’ve got a good shot, which must have been taken on August 4, then simply e-mail it to onesummersday@thenews.co.uk. Or you can post prints to us at: One Summer’s Day, Picture desk, The News, News Centre, Hilsea, Portsmouth PO2 9SX.

Please include your full name, address and daytime contact number, plus a description of what and who is in the picture. Closing date for entries will be midnight on Monday, August 13, 2012.

If you’re not the lucky winner, you can still call Bunn Leisure and quote ‘ONE SUMMER’S DAY’ to receive £50 off a week’s break in a six-berth bronze caravan in August.
