FOLLOWING on from the success of the Team GB cycling team at the summer Olympics and Paralympics a council is launching its first autumn cycle challenge.

Chichester District Council is encouraging organisations to get their staff cycling as much as possible over the next two weeks – whether it’s commuting to work, for fitness or for fun.

Among the prizes for those who cycle the most is a £500 bike from Hargroves Cycles and cycling vouchers, while new cyclists who take part can win a meal for two at Carluccio’s and Brasserie Blanc.

The challenge will run for two weeks from Saturday to October 14.

Organisations can hire bikes for staff during the challenge in a new link-up with local cycle shop, Summit Bikes of Selsey. For details call 01243 697547 or email steve@summitbikes.co.uk.

To take part cycle for just 10 minutes during the fortnight and register your ride online at chichestercyclechallenge.org.uk or go to chichester.gov.uk/cycling.
