YOUNGSTERS are being encouraged to start working towards the Duke of Edinburgh award.

The Fareham and Gosport Duke of Edinburgh centre opened earlier this year and organisers are searching for new recruits to join.

Anyone between the age of 14 and 25 can take part and the sessions run every Thursday.

Centre co-ordinator Matt Wild said: ‘It’s a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from.

‘You just realise that there’s more to life than sitting on the sofa watching television.’

An open evening will take place tomorrow at the X-Perience Centre, in Trinity Street, Fareham, from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.
