YOUNG ballet dancers, singers, guitarists and even a puppet master showed they have what it takes for stardom.

Members of East Hampshire Youth Council organised a talent contest in Petersfield.

In all, 19 acts, including solo singers, bands, actors, dancers and a puppeteer, performed to a packed house at The Studio, The Petersfield School.

The judging panel included X-Factor finalist and NuVibe band member Stefan Romer, Tom Kates, of The Petersfield School, Helen Harlow, head of music at Newton Primary School, Gosport, and Joe Boon, a former winner of Show Off, a previous talent contest for the area.

Prize winners included Shannon Dodds, a solo singer from Horndean, who came second in the 14 to 18 category and Henry Crew, a guitarist and singer from Petersfield, who came third in the group.

Contemporary ballet dancer Charlie Day, of Bordon, won the older age group and gymnastic dancer Phoebe Barrow, of Alton, scooping top spot in the eight to 13 age group.
