A DRAMA school’s third annual talent show was hailed a success by organisers.

All the local branches of the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy came together to hold the contest on Saturday in front of parents and friends in Hambledon Road, Waterlooville.

Students from all the different classes across Portsmouth and Gosport showed off their skills, which included singing, playing an instrument, dancing and stand-up comedy.

Businesswoman Anna Lloyd, of Elite Dancewear in Waterlooville, was invited to judge. She said: ‘It was a huge success with over 20 acts taking part and the students really rose to the challenge. This sort of event really allows young people to build up their confidence by giving them the limelight. It is also in aid of a great cause, youngsters helping others less fortunate than themselves.’

Proceeds from the tickets and raffle are going to the Village Africa Ambulance Appeal.
