A MUSIC charity is showcasing young talent at a free event at the Wedgewood Rooms tomorrow.

Music Fusion, based in Havant, is an organisation that helps young people to access and engage with music.

It specialises in working with young people who may have experienced challenging circumstances in life.

Fifteen acts will perform for the annual showcase at the venue in Albert Road, Southsea.

The performance starts at 7pm and all ages are welcome.

Jinx Prowse, the chief executive of Music Fusion, said: ‘This is going to be a very special night.

‘Our young people have been busy writing and practising their songs for a few months now.

‘We have some hip-hop, R‘n’B, and a some rock and metal.

‘Seeing some of our young people who have daily battles with confidence and self-esteem get up there and own the stage is what Music Fusion’s all about.’

Music Fusion’s workshops provide activities for young people, teaching them skills such as teamwork, negotiation and professionalism as well as boosting confidence and self-esteem.

It is a specialist in contemporary music genres including metal, techno, dubstep, hip-hop, indie, rock and more.

It has run music projects for 35,000 young people.
