AFTERNOON tea and cake evokes a bygone era.

But that was precisely the point when these stylish ladies dressed up in 1940s gear ahead of a vintage tea party next month.

Vintage-loving Lesley Meenaghan is organising the party in Stoke Road, Gosport, on Saturday, May 4 to bring wartime memories back to life.

The garden party, which will run from 10am to 4pm and is being held in Lesley’s own garden, will see cash being donated to the charity Hounds for Heroes.

It offers the perfect opportunity to get dressed up, with a shabby chic stall and Jack Rabbit vintage clothing on offer.

And those with a sweet tooth can indulge in treats of the past at the traditional sweet stall.
