CAKES and cuppas at the navy’s training base helped raise £170 for an armed forces charity.

Staff at HMS Collingwood in Fareham raised the cash by taking part in the annual SSAFA Big Brew Up.

It was organised by Warrant Officer Rosie Dodd who said: ‘I’d like to thank everyone involved, especially those who baked the calorific delights.’

Erica Clark baked a teapot-shaped cake which was won by her line manager Ian Freegard after he correctly guessed the weight.

SSAFA Forces Help provides support for those who serve in the armed forces and those who used to serve.
