VOLUNTEERS from HMS Sultan are fundraising for a trip to Africa.

Led by pastoral support worker Susie Templeton, a group of marine and air engineering trainees, and their divisional staff, will be heading to Kenya during Easter for a fortnight of challenging activities.

Using their engineering skills, the team from Gosport will take on practical tasks in the community to support work within homes for street children and orphans.

The trip is £1,900 per person so the team has organised fundraising events to pay for it.

Susie said: ‘The trip will create an opportunity for the team to challenge themselves and each other.

‘Working alongside our local partners will also provide us with a great opportunity to make a contribution towards the future of some of the country’s most impoverished children.

‘But the trip won’t be possible without the support of others.’
