THERE’S not long to go to bid for cash from our monster £50,000 Comic Relief giveaway.

As Red Nose Day approaches it’s the chance for community groups across the area to get a slice of cash to help those most in need.

The deadline for entries is March 16, the day after the big fundraising day.

Grants of between £500 and £1,000 are available.

The charity’s slogan this year is ‘Do something funny for money’ so tell us what you are up to. On Tuesday Sainsbury’s in Farlington have roped in a dinosaur from the BBC series Walking with Dinosaurs to help them do a Harlem Shake dance.

People are being invited to come to the store and donate cash to have their picture taken with the dinosaur – who will be decked out in red – from 3.30am.

At 4pm staff and customers will take part in a mass Harlem Shake to raise money for Comic Relief.
