A tennis club is holding a tournament to support a charity which helps families with disabled children.

Smile Support and Care has been encouraging clubs to hold a competition in aid of its new respite care centre in Waterlooville.

Denmead Community Tennis Club has taken up the challenge and organised a family event on August 2 in support of the charity, which works with disabled children and their families throughout Hampshire and West Sussex.

Alan Redman from Denmead Tennis Club said: ‘As a community tennis club, Denmead is happy to support local charities and, in particular Smile, which gives support to families with disabled children.

‘Its new respite care centre is a fantastic facility that will provide day care for local families. We are happy to stage a family event to raise funds for such an excellent cause.’

Other clubs interested in taking part should contact Jess Zubaidi on (023) 8061 3084 or email jess.zubaidi@smilesupport.org.uk
