TRIBUTES have been paid to a tennis coach who died suddenly.

Alex Watley, 23, ran classes coaching adults and children at Swanmore Lawn Tennis Club, near Bishop’s Waltham.

Last Thursday night he went out with friends in Winchester and was found dead the following day.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Alex, from Alresford near Winchester, also taught tennis in schools and summer camps across Hampshire.

In a statement the tennis club said: ‘Many people will remember that Alex joined the club in September 2010 and was well liked by adults and juniors, providing individual and group coaching at the tennis club, as well as providing coaching at local schools.

‘Alex brought a great enthusiasm to Swanmore and he’ll be missed by young and old members alike.

‘Clearly this is a difficult time for Alex’s friends and family.’

A book of condolence has been set up in the clubhouse until Friday, January 13.
