A LIBRARY in West Sussex is reopening with new self-service machines.
Selsey Library is set to reopen at 10am next Thursday with new facilities.
The branch, in School Lane, recently closed for two weeks to install the terminals – which help readers borrow and return items themselves.
It is part of plans by West Sussex County Council to modernise the service by placing machines in all 36 of its libraries – with Southbourne and Witterings to follow next year.
Lionel Barnard, county council deputy leader who oversees the service, said many readers in West Sussex are already seeing the benefits of the machines.
He said: ‘They cut down on the long queues and make borrowing a quick and simple process.
‘Staff will be on hand when the branch reopens for anyone in need of help.’
