A COASTAL walk has been reopened to the public after a revamp.

The public footpath at Thorney Island, near Emsworth, has undergone resurfacing to make it easier for walkers.

The work has been carried out by Chichester Harbour Conservancy.

Ali Beckett, publicity officer for the conservancy, said: ‘The new section runs north from St Nicholas’ Church and is surfaced with shingle.

‘Previously the path was in a very poor condition with its narrow width and uneven, muddy surface making it hard going for walkers. It is now vastly improved.’
