Friends Elaine Skinner, 21, and Samantha Gray, 22, were enjoying local band Kill Kasper at the Seaside Stage.

Elaine, from Hertfordshire but who attends the University of Portsmouth, said: ‘It has been really good so far.

‘We have enjoyed all the music and we are looking forward to Dizzee Rascal and Scouting for Girls tonight.’

A number of roads have been closed for the festival and several attractions along the seafront have free entry today and tomorrow including the D-Day Museum and Blue Reef Aquarium.
