FAMILIES headed to the park and soaked up the sun at a massive fun day.

More than 7,800 people turned up to the free Havant Fun Day in Havant Park

Both children and grown-ups enjoyed the new addition of inflatable assault courses and bouncy castles.

The annual Fun Day, which is now in its sixth year, also offered classic funfair attractions from arts and craft workshops to a tin can alley and coconut shy.

Southampton singer-songwriter and finalist on BBC talent show The Voice CJ Edwards brought extra summery vibes to the day with a live performance.

Organisers Havant Family Church said that the event is a great opportunity to meet the surrounding community.

Pastor Steve Carey said: ‘We love having the opportunity to put on this free event which is enjoyed by so many.

‘Each year the Havant Fun Day has become more and more popular and we are amazed by the turnout.

‘Without the family church volunteers who share a passion for the community, the Havant Fun Day would not be possible.’
