CHARITY bidders have donated almost £33,000 to disadvantaged children in a charity auction.
Segensworth-based radio station Wave 105 dedicated a full day of airtime to the auction with listeners placing bids for donated prizes.
Attracting the highest bid of £1,300 was a tug boat experience donated by Svitzer, while breakfast with presenter and News columnist Steve Power sparked a bidding war.
Steve said: ‘I’m delighted that joining me for breakfast is worth more than £1,000 and I’m looking forward to meeting the kind-hearted winner.’
Other prizes included tickets to a Will.I.Am concert, Festival of Speed tickets and meet and greet tickets for Scouting for Girls.
Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: ‘We’re thrilled to have beaten last year’s total by more than £7,000. We can’t thank our listeners enough.’
The money will be shared between charities that support children who are financially, socially, emotionally or physically disadvantaged.
