Blue Day was started in 2008 when Pompey reached the semi-final of the FA cup and occurs every year on the day before Pompey’s final league game of the season.

Reporters Ruth Scammell and Ellie Pilmoor visited the series of events that were held across the area.

Ruth Scammell said: “After he died his family decided they wanted to do something in his memory. They decided to raise £1 million for people with osteosarcoma.”

The aim of Blue Day is to raise money for the Tom Prince Cancer Trust, which hopes to raise £1 million towards research into osteosarcoma.
