A MAIN road was closed off after a three-vehicle accident,

North Street in Emsworth was cordoned off at about 9pm on Thursday after three cars were involved in a collision.

Police were called to the scene along with ambulance services and a fire crew from Emsworth fire station.

One of the cars was overturned.

However but no one was trapped inside. No one was injured.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said a driver of one of the vehicles had been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence.

However the force said it could not reveal more details on the driver or the offence last night.

The road was reopened around 10pm.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: ‘Fire crews from Emsworth assisted Police with making the scene safe using stabilisation equipment and remained on scene until recovery arrived due to the position of the vehicles on the road.’
