TICKETS are now on sale for the second Portsea Island Beer Festival.

A total of 50 real ales, ciders and perries will be on offer during the beer bash at the Groundlings Theatre, in Kent Street, Portsea, on October 12 and 13.

Beers are coming from Irving and Co Brewing, in Walton Road, Drayton, and other breweries from around the country. Continental bottled beers will be on offer.

The festival, which last year had a spooky theme, is going to have a Dickens-inspired one this time around.

Staff will dress up in Victorian clothes and visitors can hire out period costumes for £20.

Richard Stride, artistic director at The Groundlings Theatre, said: ‘I can’t wait for this year’s festival.

‘We wanted to give it a Dickens theme because it’s the bicentenary year.’

Tickets for Friday afternoon’s session, between midday and 4pm, cost £2.

Tickets for Friday evening’s session between 6pm and 11pm cost £7. Saturday afternoon’s session costs £4 and it’s £7 for the evening one.
