Entry forms are now available to enter a village horticultural show.

Clanfield Village Horticultural Show takes place on August 16 at 2pm at Clanfield Memorial Hall.

A free schedule and entry form to enter more than 100 sections is available.

Apart from the flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables, there is photography and cookery.

There are junior sections in cookery and arts and crafts for ages under-eight, eight to 11 and 12 to 15 with prize money.

The winners of each adult section will get prizes and there will be trophies, goblets and a shield.

All judges will be from outside the gardening club and RHS rules and regulations will be followed.

It’s not too early to start making arts and crafts and taking photographs.

Entry forms must be in by August 12.

The gardening club’s next meeting is on July 14.

The speaker will be Richard Thornton on plants and gardens of the Italian Lakes.

The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm at Petersgate School.

At every meeting there are gardeners and growers available to give you advice.

Any enquiries regarding the horticultural show should go to secretary Mike Pritchard on (023) 9259 2215.

Anyone interested in joining the gardening club should contact chairwoman Margaret Austin on (023) 9264 9042.
