LITTLE Mia Grant received a boost after an amateur boxing club donated money so she can go on a respite holiday with her family.

Earlier this year six-year-old Mia, from Fareham, was diagnosed with having the same heart condition that killed her big sister Dannielle in 2008.

Titchfield Amateur Boxing Club presented Mia with a cheque for £500 at its annual boxing show at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Ken Charman, from the club, said: ‘Immediately after we gave them the cheque, another two guys in the audience stood up and gave them £100 each.

‘So they received £700 that night.’

Each year the boxing club holds its annual show at the Guildhall which draws hundreds of people and is a highlight of any boxing fan’s calendar.

Mr Charman said: ‘The year’s show went exceeding well. It was one of the best nights that we have ever had. It was totally sold out.’
