A CARNIVAL will be kicked off with a vintage car cavalcade.

The Bishop’s Waltham Rotary Club event will start with a parade of classic and vintage vehicles which will pass through the main square at around 11.30am, on Saturday.

The carnival procession will follow, headed up by the Southsea Batala Band and will go through the square to the Hoe Road Sports Ground where the main carnival is taking place.

The carnival, which opens at midday, will have more than 80 stalls from local businesses as well as rides and games for all the family to enjoy.

Several arenas will also have entertainment.

The vintage cars are expected to be on show on the field.
