A MAN has died after being struck by a train at Cosham station.
The incident was reported to British Transport Police at 8.45pm and is not being treated as suspicious.
National Rail has said there is now a delay of around an hour on routes between Portsmouth Harbour, Havant and Fareham.
Medics from the local ambulance service attended and the victim was rescued from under the 9pm train heading to London Victoria from Southampton.
He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, where he was ponounced dead.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: ‘BTP officers were called to the line close to Cosham on Wednesday, June 18, after a report that a person had been struck by a train.’
