Pensioner freed from car after crash on the M27

A 73-YEAR-OLD man was cut free from his car after an accident on the M27.

The man, who was driving a Peugeot 306, hit the central reservation, on the eastbound carriageway between junction 9 for Segensworth, and junction 10, for Wickham, at 3.40pm yesterday.

Two crews from Fareham fire station, plus one from St Mary’s and the special equipment unit, was called.

The man was freed, before he was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, to be treated for minor injuries.

The outer lane of the carriageway was closed until shortly after 5pm.
