POLICE have named a young man who died after a fall from a balcony at a Bognor holiday resort.

Timothy Wall, 23, from Ringwood, was enjoying a holiday with his girlfriend and her family when he fell from a balcony on the sixth floor of a hotel within the Butlins complex.

The accident happened at 1.15am today. Despite efforts by paramedics to revive him he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances around the fall are not yet known but it is not being treated as suspicious. His next of kin have been informed.

A source told The News the death appears to have been a tragic accident following a night out at the resort.

A spokesman for Butlins said: ‘Everybody is very shocked and saddened by the incident, which is now in the hands of the police.’

Detective Inspector Jim McKnight, of Sussex CID, said: ‘At this time the death is unexplained. However, it is not considered to be suspicious.

‘The man has been identified as Timothy Patrick Wall, 23 years-old, of St Leonards, Ringwood, Hampshire.’

Det Insp McKnight said the coroner has been informed and a postmortem examination will take place in due course.
