Sunday parking charges to be introduced in Chichester
FROM April visitors to Chichester will have to pay for parking on Sundays.
The charges were agreed in September and the district council reviewed the fees and rubber-stamped them at a full meeting on Tuesday.
It means motorists will pay £1 for four hours in long-stay car parks and £2 for the whole day in 70 per cent of the city’s car parks run by the council.
Spaces in the city’s short-stay car park will charge the current tariff of £1 an hour up to three hours, £5 for up to four hours, and £10 for more than four hours. Parking season tickets will cover the entire week at no extra charge.
The proposed changes were considered by the Car Parking Forum which is made up of businesses, residents’ groups and Chichester City Council.

Currently you can park there (CFT carpark) for £3.50 for the day (Mon-Sat) - try looking at the cost of all day parking in Brighton or Oxford? £2 to park all day on a Sunday is a bargain - to park in Southsea it costs £1.40 for an hour ...............
