Pedestrian run over in rush hour traffic

A PEDESTRIAN suffered minor injuries after being hit by a car.

The incident happened at 5.50pm today at the junction of London Road and Stubbington Avenue, North End.

Police officers and ambulance crews attended.

The driver was unharmed.

They must be one tough cookie! "Run over" implies that they were er... run over, i.e. that the wheels and body of the vehicle passed over them and a substantial proportion of the gross weight of the vehicle was, at some point, pressing down on a part or parts of their body. That being the case, I'm surprised that the injuries were minor. Whatever the degree, I hope they make a speedy recovery.
