FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue two girls in separate incidents after they became trapped.

The first call out came after a toddler found herself trapped in a bench.

Firefighters from Gosport were called to Mill Road at about 1pm on Saturday after a 20-month-old girl had got her legs stuck in the wooden slats. The wood was removed and the girl was uninjured.

They were called out again yesterday when a four-year-old girl was trapped in a playground roundabout.

One crew from Gosport was called to the Lee-on-the-Solent recreation ground at 2pm. The youngster’s leg was stuck in between two bars on the roundabout and she could not get free. Firefighters used hydraulics equipment to bend the bars on the roundabout enough to free the trapped leg.

The girl was not injured.
