THE A27 has reopened in both directions between Emsworth and Chichester following an overnight closure caused by flooding.

The Highways Agency has confirmed the road was open at 3am after torrential rain closed the major trunk route yesterday.

However the A259 between Bognor and Chichester has flooding in places.

Elsewhere the M3 has lanes one and two are closed southbound between Fleet Services & J5 due to flooding.

And the River Wallington has burst it’s banks flooding Hook Lane, Boarhunt Road and Nine Elms Road, which have now closed. Reports are it is passable with extreme care but best to avoid.
