HAMPSHIRE County Council is warning motorists and cyclists to be vigilant after 10 motorbike deaths this year.

Six of the accidents across the county have occurred this month alone.

To step up awareness for bikers, the county council is going to install bike safety posters along the A32 Fareham Road at its junction with Camp Road in Gosport.

Councillor Sean Woodward, the county councillor in charge of transport, said: ‘Sadly there have been 10 motorcycle deaths on the county’s roads this year.

‘We want to prevent further accidents by increasing safety awareness among riders and drivers.

‘Many riders are injured at junctions when vehicles pull out. Others crash as a result of entering a bend too fast. Our message is to think bike.’
