A MOTORCYCLIST is recovering in hospital after losing control of his bike and colliding with a wall.

The 31-year-old from Fareham was heading east-bound on Church Road in Locks Heath when the accident happened at about 8.20pm on Thursday.

He was riding a red Suzuki SV650 and it is not known what caused him to lose control.

A rapid response team from the ambulance service was first on the scene, and he was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance. His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

The road was closed until shortly before 10pm.
