A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious leg injuries during a rush-hour crash.

The rider collided with a car in Havant Road, Hayling Island shortly after 8am.

Police say his injuries are not life-threatening but are serious.

The road has been shut while the police work at the scene and the bike is recovered.

Police have not yet released further details.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: ‘Havant Road in Hayling Island is closed following a collision involving a car and a motorcycle.

‘The incident happened shortly before 8am today.

‘The motorcyclist sustained leg injuries but is not thought to be in a life threatening condition.

‘The road is expected to remain closed for some time while the motorcycle is recovered and the scène examined by collision investigators.’

Officers reopened the road at 8.33am.
