A 10-YEAR-OLD boy was flown to hospital with a head injury after being hit by a car.

The incident happened at about 7.15pm on Sunday in Middle Park Way, Havant, near the junction of Thruxton Road.

Police say the boy was hit by a blue Mercedes saloon.

He was initially treated by paramedics for a head injury, before being airlifted to Southampton General Hospital, and was said to be in a critical condition.

Police closed the road for two hours.

Sgt Wayne Voller, of the Fratton Roads Policing Unit, said: ‘I would be interested in hearing from anyone who saw the collision. At this stage it doesn’t seem the speed of the car was an issue.’
