AN EIGHT-year-old boy was hit by a bus in Warsash.

A road was closed after the accident which happened at around 5.25pm yesterday.

The young boy was knocked down by the bus at the junction of Warsash Road and Church Road.

The road was closed by police while they dealt with the incident.

An ambulance was despatched to the scene and the boy was treated for shock. He did not suffer any other injuries as a result of the collision.

Police reopened the roads to traffic at about 6pm.
