DRIVERS are being advised to expect delays at night on Copnor bridge while planned maintenance work is carried out.

Starting on October 11, a lane on the bridge will be closed from 10pm to 6am each night, with temporary traffic lights allowing vehicles to travel in one direction at a time.

The work is mostly painting and replacing panels and will last for two weeks.

It is weather dependent so may have to be rescheduled if there are adverse conditions.

Residents wanting more information on the work can attend a drop in session from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday in the main hall at St Joseph’s Church Hall, Tangiers Road.

A second phase of similar work will take place in December, full details of this will be announced nearer the time.
