A LIFEBOAT crew were called to help a stricken swimmer.

But when the crew from Gosport & Fareham Inshore Rescue Service arrived they found the person was just swimming a different stroke.

The person was doing butterfly when spotted off Titchfield on Sunday.

Gafirs posted online: ‘Swimmer returned to shore. False alarm, with good intent.’

On Saturday at 4.07pm a crew was called out to a body in the water off Southsea Castle. It was a barrel.
