CYCLISTS have started a petition to create a cycle route along an old motorway.
Cycle Hayling wants to see a cycle route along the northbound A3M at Queen Elizabeth Country Park to the B2070 heading towards Petersfield, which is known as the Butser Cutting.
It is the only stretch of road without a cycle route and they say at the moment cyclists are taking their lives in their own hands on the dual carriageway.
A petition has been set up by Robert Sebley, from campaign group Cycle Hayling, calling on the Highways Agency to build a track to allow cyclists to commute between Waterlooville, Horndean and Petersfield.
