POLICE are hunting a driver who failed to stop following a collision on the A32 at West Meon.

At around 6.20am on Tuesday, a silver Peugeot 306 heading south towards West Meon collided with a white Vauxhall car heading north.

The Peugeot lost control, span across oncoming traffic and struck the verge, which caused significant damage to the vehicle.

The driver, a man in his 30s from Alresford, was uninjured.

The white Vauxhall, described as Vectra-sized, failed to stop and was last seen heading towards West Meon Hut.

PC Martin Jones from Winchester Targeted Patrol team said: ‘The reporting driver states that there were numerous other vehicles using the road at this time and it was fortunate that following the collision he did not crash into oncoming vehicles.’
