TWO women were taken to hospital as a precaution after a car and a lorry collided on the M275 southbound.

The emergency services were called to the scene after a Daewoo Matiz and a lorry were involved in the accident at 3.40pm.

Crews from Cosham and Southsea fire stations were sent to the incident. No one had to be cut free from the car.

Motorists were delayed as traffic flow was affected on the Kingston Crescent and Wharf Road, near the Rudmore roundabout.

Lanes two and three were obstructed following the incident as emergency crews cleared the scene.

Traffic was back to normal at around 4.30pm.

The driver of the Daewoo Matiz suffered minor injuries in the collision.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the driver of the lorry was unharmed.
