A CAR crashed into a house causing a minor gas leak in Denmead tonight.

Police were called to Forest Road near to Bunkers Hill at 7.38pm as the car had crashed into a front garden.

The driver suffered minor injuries, but the gas company was called out as a precaution as the car had hit an industrial gas main.

The police asked some residents to leave their homes temporarily, but the problem was not as bad as first feared, and they were shortly allowed back in.
