A CAR flipped on to its roof after a collision with a Colas truck in Portsmouth.
The accident at the junction of London Road and Northern Parade, Hilsea, happened just before 4pm today.
Four people inside the Blue Fiat vehicle managed to scramble out after it turned over and started smoking.
Police, ambulance and a fire engine were then sent to deal with the situation.
Medics treated the motorists for their injuries, which were not considered serious.
The driver of the Colas vehicle was unharmed.
Officers directed traffic while arrangements were made to recovery the damaged car.
Lucy Hart, 38, of Hilsea Crescent, Hilsea, watched on with her children Max, six, and Mia, seven.
‘It’s a horrendous junction,’ she said.
‘We have lived here since 2004 and there have been a number of accidents there.’
Dave Fletcher, 51, of Cosham, who had been around the junction on his scooter moments before, added: ‘Someone will get killed there sooner or later.’
