A CAR crashed through a garden wall and narrowly missed hitting a ground floor flat following a two vehicle collision.

The accident happened on Copnor Road, south of Copnor bridge, just after 8.30am.

One of the cars, a red Renault, left the road and hit a garden wall.

Lee Burgh, who lives at the address, was woken when he heard a bang.

He said: ‘I heard this loud noise and then a big bang and then my flat shook.

‘I went out and saw a car in my front garden. It was inches from the front door.

‘It seems when the wall fell it hit the flat and that’s why I felt it.’

Police, two fire engines and two ambulances attended the incident.

The female driver of the Renault and her female passenger, were unhurt.
