FOUR people had to be taken to hospital following a head-on collision.

The accident happened in Highlands Road, Fareham, at just after 1am on Sunday.

A black Seat Ibiza and a black Hyundai collided.

Members of the public stopped to help and police closed the road while firefighters, from Fareham fire station, freed one of the people from a car.

Paramedics took four people who had minor injuries to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.

The road was reopened at 2am.

Police are treating the incident as an accident.
