RAIL journeys had to be cancelled after a train broke down this morning.

South West Trains have confirmed their 7.30am service from Portsmouth Harbour to London Waterloo suffered from a mechanical failure.

Passengers had to be loaded onto the train behind but were only delayed by around 10 minutes.

The break down has led to the cancellation of the 9.15am service from Waterloo to Haslemere and the 10.39am train from Haslemere to Waterloo, now expected at 11.40am.

A spokeswoman for South West Trains confirmed the break down will not affect any other journeys.
