TWO drivers have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash.

The accident happened on Winchester Road, in Shirrell Heath, north of Fareham.

At 8.18am yesterday a green Ford Capri was heading north when it collided head-on with a blue Ford Mondeo on the B2177 close to the Old Forge Inn.

The Capri driver, a 21-year-old man, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham.

The 29-year-old woman driving the Mondeo was also taken hospital with serious injuries to her arm and upper body.

PC Steve Wootton from the Fratton Roads Policing unit said: ‘I’m appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw either vehicle in the area prior to it.’
