Diversion in village

March 1962 and a naval rating signals Halt to more conventional traffic as the Saunders-Roe SRN1 crosses the seafront at Lee-on-the-Solent and returns to HMS Ariel, now the site of the Hovercraft Museum. Roles such as anti-submarine warfare, air-sea rescue and mine countermeasures were foreseen. Pictures courtesy Amberley Publishing

BUS services in Titchfield will be diverted for the next two weeks.

Roadworks in the village will bring about a change in bus services from Monday, January 28.

The bus service affected by the diversion is the First bus 4A to Southampton.

The works are to replace bollards on South Street, and mean that Bridge Street through to West Street will be closed until February 7.
