A DESPERATE plea has been made to help find a runaway pet dog.

Martie the boxer cross slipped free of his collar while he was being walked and ran into the path of a van.

It happened on Thursday afternoon, near the Co-op, in Westbourne village, and the owners were unable to check to see if he was injured before he bolted. Martie was last seen in Crockford Road.

Owner Jackie Tims, of Mallard Way, Westbourne, said: ‘He is only 18 months and we are extremely worried about him. We are all devastated, particularly the children.

‘My 13-year-old and 10-year-old were walking him at the time and he just pulled out of his collar. If anyone has seen him please let us know as soon as possible.’

If you see him please call Mrs Tims on 01243 376040 or 07827 910298. Or go to 610111 on
