A YOUNG woman had to be rescued from her car after it crashed on a motorway.

The accident happened at junction 11 of the eastbound M27, near Fareham, at 6.40am yesterday.

A crew from Cosham fire station was called to assist firefighters from Fareham to free the woman from the Renault Clio.

The doors had to be taken off the car and the driver was put on a spinal board and taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, as a precaution.
